Treating acne with acid?

Salicylic acid is perfect for the treatment for getting rid of pimples. When you apply the product, it first removes the topmost layer of skin. Then it penetrates your pores and unclogs them by breaking down oils and dead skin cells, and thus eliminating the pimple. Another great thing about salicylic acid is that it is an anti-inflammatory, so it is also effective in reducing the appearance of pimples-- the redness and swelling-- while it is doing its magic on the pores.

Salicylic acid is VERY effective for treatment of acne. This stuff can get rid of pimples fast! The only drawback about this stuff is that even the over-the-counter products are pretty heavy duty, and that might be an issue for people with sensitive skin.

If you have sensitive skin, an excellent alternative to salicylic acid is glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is an acid that naturally occurs in fruit, and it is a little milder. It works by breaking up the bonds of those troublesome dead skin cells that gather on the surface of the skin, the very skin cells that clog pores and cause pimples to form.
